COLLEGE AND VOCATIONAL PLANNING


There are many options after high school. It is important that you start looking into these opportunities and take the steps necessary to reach your post secondary goals. Listed below are various websites for you to apply to community colleges, universities or vocational schools. 


Applying to a 4-year college/university. There are three main websites that you can apply through for a four year college. 


CSU-California State Universities. There are 23 campuses in California. Deadline: 11/30/2019

UC-Universities of California. There are 9 campuses in California. Deadline: 11/30/2019

The Common Application. Over 800 colleges you can apply to through this common application. Deadlines vary, please see specific school for the deadline.

Applying to a community college. There are approximately 114 community colleges that you can attend in California. Click on the first link to apply to different campuses. The closest community college to Pomona is Mt. San Antonio College (Mt. SAC) and others closest to our area also include Chaffey CC and Citrus CC. If you are interested in either of those three you can click on the link directly below. Pomona Unified School District has an agreement with Mt. SAC. If you plan to attend Mt. SAC make sure you participate in the Mt. SAC Connect 4 program for priority registration.

Applying to vocational/trade schools. There are many vocational programs you can complete through the community colleges that are affordable and possibly even free if you qualify. 


  • Community colleges offer vocational certificate programs where it is more hands on. Research programs at your local community college. 
  • ROP-Regional Opportunity Programs. Check with the ROP Office or your counselor for current programs.
  • American Job Center or other job placement centers can connect you to a short certificate program as well. See your school counselor or career tech for additional information.
