Career Explorations and Opportunities

CaliforniaColleges.edu provides students with an all-inclusive guide for their college & career paths and enables us educators to track their progress. Students can obtain additional information about colleges, and explore careers by taking assessments and doing browse searches. Pomona Unified students can create their plans on the website and will have personalized profiles. If you do not have your login information, contact your school counselor.

Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery. The ASVAB is a multiple-aptitude battery that measures developed abilities and helps predict future academic and occupational success in the military. For additional information about the ASVAB, click on the link http://official-asvab.com/. Ask your counselor about dates to take the ASVAB. 

 

Work Permits for Minors Need a work permit? Click on the link below to print out a work permit application. You will need the application signed by your parent and employer, a copy of your school transcript, and photo ID. The application will be turned into the ROP office which is located through Entrance # 2 to the left of the SEEO main campus.

American Job Centers AJC provides students with the opportunity to obtain work experience and trainings. Some students are placed to work their 120 hours at SEEO. Talk to Eric Negron to get more information. He is at the SEEO main campus room 422 or click on the flyers for additional information and to contact the center directly.

 

Career Pathways and Trainings through SEEO Currently SEEO offers Intro to Marketing, Sales and Services and Intro to Professional Music directly on the main campus. Click on the flyer to obtain additional information on the Marketing course. If interested, contact your school counselor to get additional information and be scheduled into the course.

 

Cosmetology and Foods and Hospitality are available at the Village Center next door to the main campus. Please see your counselor to give you a ROP slip to get into the class. 

 

Students at the SEEO satellites are welcomed to participate in any of these programs as well as any ROP course being offered at that campus. 

 

CTEC-Career and Technical Educational Center CTEC offers career pathway courses with focused training in Arts, Media & Design, Automotive, Agriculture, Energy & Utilities, Welding and Hospitality. Each career pathway consists of several courses that give students the opportunity to not only gain hands-on experience and exploration of career options, but also includes the development of employability skills to secure a job. Career Center Visit the career center at Park West or schedule a meeting with Andrew Roman to explore some new opportunities. Mr. Roman will be available to meet with SEEO students Mondays and Wednesday from 8:00 am - 12:30 pm.
